Winter in Mariposa County is a great time of year. The nights are cooler of course, but the days stay relatively warm. Snowfall around the county varies depending on elevation with the township of Mariposa recieving little snow and several feet of snow only moments up the road, in Yosemite Valley, Fish Camp, and Wawona, several feet can fall in a night.
Badger Pass in Yosemite National Park offers world class Skiing and Snowboarding with lifts, various runs, and a host of winter programs.
Perhas for its dusted landscape, or the snow that envelops visitors in silence, Yosemite Valley is considered to be most beaufitul in winter. Grab a hot cup of joe and breath in the beautiful snow-peaked granite mountains. Remember that Yosemite National Park never closes its gates.
