Hiking outside Yosemite:
– Stockton Creek Preserve | Offers a 2.5 mile loop location just 1 mile outside the town of Mariposa. Always a great place to retreat to peace and quiet, bird watch or just enjoy the year-round flowers and plants that grow along the trail.
– Briceburg Rec. Area | Has plenty of access road trails to walk or hike along with more seasonal small paths that lead to amazing flower beds in Spring. Directly along the Merced River, it’s a great place to hike, jog or ride your bike.
– Hites Cove Trail | Provides some of the most amazing displays of Spring poppy bloomage in California. Every March/April photographers flock to this trail to capture entire mountainsides covered in flowers as far as the eye can see.
